«For our 9 year old daughter, we were looking for a German private tutor, who would be willing to adapt to her particular needs and language challenges and offer an unconventional style of learning that would get our daughter excited about getting tutor lessons in a language in which she is not yet too comfortable. We were therefore less interested in a structured introduction to German, where one reads from a textbook and performs boring tasks. She gets that at school. We instead needed a more open-ended approach based on interest, everyday topics and conversation meeting our 4th grader at her eye level and improving her vocabulary in addition to her grammatical understanding.We were also seeking a teaching style that would build up her ability to speak German on a foundation of being able to write competently and grammatically correct getting comfortable with the many grammatical rules in German. We started in the 4th grade to strengthen this foundation with the intention of focusing tutor efforts on Gymi-Prüfung preparations starting from the 5th grade.Since July 2019 under Ramona, we are happy to say that these needs have been resoundingly met. «Ramona is one of the greatest language teacher I ever had. She was always very punctual, passionate and friendly with our daughter Carolina. First we were kind of afraid that Carolina will lose interest very fast, but with Ramona she really enjoy her time and the classes were going so well. The teaching material is good and suitable for private lessons but I think it wouldn't be so efficient without Ramona's teaching methods (e.g. pointing at real objects when learning new words for our visual memory). I think that Carolina was learning a lot (more than expected) even without putting a lot of effort into it - outside the private German classes. As an expat living in Zurich, Switzerland, I wanted to have a good understanding of the language so I could better integrate into society here. In my first year, I attended a school where I was learning high German for two and a half hours a week. I had the pleasure of working with Ramona for over 1.5 years now teaching German to my daughter Elin (10) and my son Jean (8). We are an English only speaking expat family and I was looking for a German tutor to help expand their German knowledge as they both attend a bilingual school and need a little bit of extra help outside of the school system. We first met Ramona while skiing in Davos in 2016, with our children Nicholine (6) and Wilhelm (5). We signed the children up for the ski school and noticed very early that Ramona had a special connection with children. The way she spoke to them, respected them and trained them, with a strict but loving hand, was very nice as parents to observe. She taught our children how to enjoy the art of skiing and to always have fun in the slopes. She also spoke both english and german with the kids during the ski lessons. We always requested Ramona as the ski teacher every time we returned back to Davos. She is always positive, smiling, talented and fun to be around. After all this time together, we all consider her as a good friend. There are no other ski teacher we would recommend more than Ramona!
